Homewood Parks and Recreation offers competitive swimming for all age groups. It is not a learn to swim program but no experience is necessary. Our swimmers compete against other swimmers with the same age and times during meets. A pre-competitive program (GUPPY) is available for kids that can but are not quite ready to compete, ages 8 and under. They must be able to swim across the pool.
Children who are ready to compete, ages 5 – 18, will be divided into groups – older (more experienced) and younger (less experienced) at the Homewood Central Pool. Homewood Swim Team competes through the Jefferson County Swim League (JCSC) against other teams from our area.
Registration begins May 5th at We Love Homewood Day and runs through late May. JCSC fees will be assessed at a later date. Practices are Monday through Friday 8am – 10am, specific times depend on the childs age and ability.
