Clay Class with Joann: Mondays at 2:15pm. Recently retired Edgewood Elementary teacher Joann Brown will facilitate this class for adults age 55-and-up. Joann holds 3 different Alabama teacher certifications, one of which is art. In addition to her 27 years of teaching experience with children, Joann is also quite accustomed to working with the older population. She oversees the care of her 89 year old mother and has taught classes for groups in which her mother has been involved. Now retired, Joann is looking forward to applying her career skills as she shares her love of clay with members of the Senior Center. Projects created in the class will be suitable for display and gift-giving. Participants will hand-build objects of clay and glaze them for firing in the kiln. Free to Senior Center members. Space is limited, so those interested should call Center Director Aimee Thornton to register or get on the waiting list: 332-6502.
