Good Luck Elizabeth!!!

First of all, I feel so thankful and blessed to be a healthy, active senior.  To me, age is only a number and each decade of my life, I have find new things to interest me and excite me and I may have discarded a few things along the way.  I never cried when I was 30, 40, 50, or 60!  And in 2012, when I hit the next decade, I will be excited about the opportunities for new things to learn and do. (That is if my girls will quit saying, ”I can’t believe Mama is going to be 70″!) I am delighted and so proud to be representing the City of Homewood in the Ms. Senior Alabama Pageant.  In my philosophy and my life, I have always been the one to go the extra mile and maybe said, “Yes”, too many times.  I believe I will represent you well.  I will go the extra mile, bring some professionalism to the pageant from my career, a little laughter, my students always whispered, “She’s so funny”, two of my funny children say, “We get it from you Mama”!  I will bring some genuine smiles, loves and hugs. That’s what I have always been know for with my students and colleagues. And when I wear the fru, fru, and the bling, bling, I promise I will make you proud!

My Philosopy:  Being an educator for almost 50 years, my philosophy has always been to work hard and go the extra mile, and share a smile to brighten someone’s day.  Be tough, but fair, and kind and caring.  And, I love to make people laugh!  I would like for my legacy to read:  “She made a difference in people’s lives”.  Life is like an onion, as you slowly peel away the years, there will be tears, but Faith, Family, and Friends will always get you through.
