Why Water?

Water – It covers 70% of the Earths surface, yet less than 1% of the worlds water is drinkable. The result is that, in a world of over 6 billion people, almost 1 billion lack access to clean, safe drinking water. Even more tragically, this means that one child dies from contaminated water every 15 seconds – The time you’ve spent reading this paragraph.

“Lemonade for Living Water”

“Lemonade for Living Water” is seeking to raise funds to bring clean and living water to the poor across the world. Last fall, Jay Leonard, learned about the Neverthirst organization through their website. He was so touched by the fact that children his own age are living without clean water, he wanted to help. After some thought, the idea of selling hot cocoa to provide clean water was born last winter! Jay reached his first goal of $4,000 to provide an entire village in Sudan with clean water, and Jay has decided to keep going! Jay has been very busy since last summer and raised enough to build a well in India, as well as one in the Central African Republic! He is now working on the 4th well which will most likely be built in India.

Please help Jay reach his goal of helping others; as he will be selling Lemonade, water and soft drinks at the Back to School Bash!
