Josh Britnell

I grew up in Hartselle, AL and came to Birmingham-Southern College, where I obtained a math major and certification in secondary education and played baseball.  Post graduation, I became a math teacher at Homewood HS and coached baseball and basketball there for 8 years. Then, I transitioned to an assistant principal at Chelsea HS for two years.  Currently, I am in my 9th year as an assistant principal at Spain Park HS.

My wife is Heather and I have three children, William (8), Joseph (8) and Owen (5).We have lived in Homewood for four years and our children attend Edgewood Elementary.  We are members at Trinity UMC in Homewood.

Kent Jackson has been coaching basketball in some form for 23 years.  Since 2010, Kent has coached at the high school level including several years here in Homewood under Tim Shepler.  He is currently a teacher at Oak Mountain High School and served on the coaching staff for the team that won the 7A State Championship in 2021 under Chris Love.  He and his wife, Dana, live in Homewood with their two sons, Charlie and Luke, and their dog, Bosco.

Chris Nanni and his family moved to Homewood in 2014 from South Bend, Indiana to head up the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham. Chris, and his wife Allison, have three children who went through the Homewood School system. The oldest, Marcello, is currently a senior at the University of Notre Dame. Louie is a sophomore at Auburn, and Maria is a senior at Homewood High School. Both Marcello and Louie played high school basketball for Coach Shepler. Maria is currently on the bowling team. Coach Nanni was a walk-on for the Notre Dame basketball team and had the pleasure of playing for legendary coach, Digger Phelps.

Justin Rumph was a basketball player at Hoover HS who went on to attend Mississippi State University and received his bachelor’s degree in communication.  He has coached AAU teams and done personal basketball training.

He was a letterwinner at MSU who was on the SEC all-academic team for 4 years. After he obtained his degree he began his career as an Alfa Insurance agent in Birmingham.  Runph loves helping others and putting them into a better financial position. He loves the insurance field and coaching your kiddos!

Lou DiFeo graduated from UCF in 1996, spending 5 years as a student-assistant on the men’s basketball team.  They went to two NCAA Tournaments, playing Purdue in 1994 and UMass in 1996.  He went on to coach at Oviedo HS in FL and Homewood HS.  DiFeo shifted to coach Womens college basketball for 14 years as a D1 assistant as well as a D2 head coach at multiple stops. He has worked basketball camps in the summer for 25+ years and is currently the Athletic Coordinator and Basketball Director here in Homewood.
