Pavilion Rental Information

Having a Picnic? A birthday party? A family get together? Homewood Parks & Recreation offers nine pavilions in four different parks perfect for celebrating outdoor events.


General Information
Reservations are available at all pavilion locations 7 days a week pending availability. Pavilions rent in a time block of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with one rental per pavilion per day. The reservation fee varies depending on the size of the pavilion.


  • One bounce house is allowed per pavilion rental.
  • Water attractions are not allowed (i.e., water slides, slip in slides, water bounce houses or dunking booths)
  • No colored paint or paintball guns, water balloons, silly string, or confetti.
  • No vehicles are allowed on park grounds or at pavilion locations. This includes guests, vendors, food trucks and party entertainment.
  • Alcohol is prohibited.


Special Events
Pavilions cannot be used to host Special Events. Any event that charges a fee to participants to attend, conducts fundraising activities, advertises to the public, or has vendors are required to apply for a Special Event Permit. Reservations are booked In-person at the Business Office In the Homewood Community Center (1632 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209), Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm. Cash, credit /debit card and checks are accepted. To check availability please call 205-332-6701 (or) 205-332-6716, during business office hours.


If you are a Homewood resident making this rental, you will need one of the following when you come in-person:

  • current lease agreement
  • current property tax notice
  • current utility bill

FAQ'S

  • What is the rental procedure?

    Rental must be completed in-person at Homewood Community Center during Business Office hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm.


    Full rental fees are due at time of application. Permit will be issued to the applicant at the time reservation is made.

  • How far in advance can I rent a pavilion?

    Pavilion reservations may be made up to five months in advance.

  • Who can reserve a pavilion?

    Pavilions can be reserved by residents and non-residents. Fees can be found in the table above.

  • Can alcohol be served or consumed?

    Alcohol is prohibited.

  • Can I decorate the pavilion I have rented?

    Yes. You are able to decorate the pavilion on the day of your rental only. Everything must be taken down and disposed of or taken with you when your group is finished. Duct tape, nails, tacks, or any material that would damage or leave residue on pavilions are not allowed. Anything that you put up must be taken down. Additional fees may apply if your group does not return the pavilion to the condition in which it was found.

  • Can I bring my own grill to my pavilion rental?

    Yes, propane/butane fueled grills ONLY.  No charcoal grills are allowed.

  • What if inclement weather effects my rental?

    If a rental is rained out, the renter has 3 business days to notify the business office to reschedule or request a refund.
